Established in 2009, Velo Cycles is a community-oriented bike shop located in Nicholson Village and serving riders of Melbourne’s inner north suburbs. Operating with a local-bike shop mentality, they pride themselves on providing good value, high-quality and reliable transport options and expert mechanical service.
There are in fact 3 offerings, all an easy stroll along the west side of Nicholson Street.
‘Velo Cycles’ is positioned right on the Capital City Trail, one of the busiest bike paths in Melbourne (technically just over the Yarra / Moreland border - but we’re cool with that!). ‘Velo Electric’ can be found here too, and ‘Brompton Junction‘ is just a minute or so further south (Yarra proper!) and next to each other.
Coralie and the team at Velo Electric can talk you through all things electric bikes, including some hot tips for regional riding tours in Victoria. And Dayna heads up Brompton Junction - the first Brompton flagship store in the Southern Hemisphere, and still Australia's biggest and best Brompton dealer. If you want a folding bike, you want a Brompton.
Across the stores they stock a variety of bikes, bike parts, bike apparel and accessories from trusted brands including Jamis, Brompton, Kona, Surly, ByK, BBB, Brooks, Ortileb, Nutcase, Giro, Bell, Lazer and many more.
